  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Jenas was given his marching orders by the broadcasting giants after allegations emerged surrounding "issues relating to workplace behaviour" by the former England midfielder. WHAT JENAS SAID

The 41-year-old was live on talkSPORT when the news broke and gave an interview to the radio show. He said: "I am not happy about it. I’ll have to let lawyers deal with it. There are two sides to every story."

TalkSPORT added that the allegations made against Jenas related to unsolicited messages sent to a female member of staff on The One Show.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Jenas had been tipped to replace Gary Lineker as Match of the Day host when the ex-striker decides to call time on the gig but now looks set to miss out on a huge payday. Linker himself said in an interview that the ex-Tottenham and Newcastle man was the natural heir to the main seat on Saturday nights.

    WHAT NEXT FOR JENAS?

While Jenas waits for his lawyers to get to the bottom of the allegations, his future on other networks remains unclear. He was part of the commentary team that oversaw Liverpool's win against Ipswich in the Premier League last weekend and was reportedly due to return to talkSPORT over the coming days.
