Hulk to join Inter Miami superhero Lionel Messi in MLS? Legendary Brazilian striker opens 'really cool' transfer door at 38 as he has 'many more years' left

A transfer door is being left ajar there despite the veteran frontman being 38 years of age. He believes that he still has "many more" seasons left in him, with the goals continuing to flow at Atletico Mineiro in his homeland.

Hulk has told CNN Esportes of extending his iconic career beyond a 40th birthday in the summer of 2026: "I have two more years on my contract with Galo, but I love playing football. If God allows me to play for many more years, I will continue to play, but I will do so at a high level. When I can no longer keep up with the boys, then it will be better to retire."

Hulk has previously spent time in Europe with Porto and Zenit, while also forming part of the Chinese Super League revolution that saw him enjoy five seasons with Shanghai SIPG. He remains open to new challenges and is not ruling out a move to join the likes of Messi and Luis Suarez in the U.S.

Asked if such a switch would appeal to him, Hulk said: "Without a doubt, having the opportunity to work and combine business with pleasure, and living in the United States for the lifestyle, the safety, for everything, that’s really cool. It’s a country that gives you a lot."

Hulk’s prolific strike rate should make him of interest to teams across MLS, despite his advancing years. He is a proven performer at the very highest level, having earned 49 caps for his country, and would be another clever marketing tool for a country counting down the days to the 2026 World Cup – which they will co-host.
