    WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Calciomercato, Weah was unable to report for training after feeling 'unwell' and is now recovering at home. With a top of the top-of-the-table Serie A clash against Inter Milan looming large at the weekend, Massimiliano Allegri will be sweating on the USMNT's fitness over the next couple of days.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Juventus currently sit second in the league, one point behind Inter Milan, having played one game more than the Nerazzuri. The season has been a very positive one for the Bianconeri so far after what had been a rather dismal 2022-23 campaign in which they missed out on Champions League and Europa league qualification, and Weah has played a key role, making 19 appearances across all competitions.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Despite Weah's absence, Juventus do have some good news ahead of the Derby d'Italia as Adrien Rabiot and Federico Chiesa are both available again after missing some key games due to injury. However, it remains to be seen if Allegri throws either of them directly into the starting lineup or decides to take a cautious approach to further aid their return to full fitness.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WEAH?

The American's recovery in the next 48 hours will dictate if he will be able to return ahead of the crucial match with Inter, as Juve will be careful to avoid the illness spreading through their camp at such a pivotal point of the campaign. The Derby d'Italia is scheduled for Sunday, February 4.
