  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane is suspended for this weekend's clash between Bayern and Leipzig, with a win enough to see Bayern crowned champions. That victory would finally give the England captain his first-ever major trophy, but his yellow card, given after he tried to prevent Mainz taking a quick free-kick in his last outing, means he will miss the encounter.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kane complained that the referee made a "crazy, crazy decision", and Hainer has now claimed that the entire squad have been left "bitter" after the yellow card, and are desperate to win the title for the former Tottenham centre-forward. Kane has scored 36 goals in all competitions this term.

  • WHAT HAINER SAID

Hainer told Bild: "That's bitter. He has a chance to become German champion on Saturday. It's his first major title, and it hurts us all that he won't be on the pitch. But he'll definitely be there in Leipzig"

    WHAT NEXT?

Bayern could win their 34th German league title this weekend. Kane will, unfortunately, have to be a spectator.
