Harry Kane robbed! Thomas Muller left absolutely apoplectic as he's kneed in the head by Darmstadt's goalkeeper but ref bizarrely penalises Bayern star to stop England striker scoring yet again

Kane turned home into an empty net after Muller had collided with Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen, but the whistle had gone to deny the England captain another goal early doors. However, closer inspection showed that the veteran Bayern forward had actually been pushed into the 'keeper by one of the Darmstadt defenders, meaning either a penalty or a Kane goal should likely have been called by the referee.

Despite the push on Muller, by the letter of the law he may technically have fouled Schuhen - but that didn't stop the veteran forward from unleashing a furious reaction to the decision. Muller could be seen in a heated debate with Darmstadt's captain Fabian Holland after the incident, while throwing his hands in the air in disgust at the referee and pointing to his head to show where the blow had taken place. Indeed, Schuhen had kneed Muller in the head, despite a foul being given the other way.

That incident summarised a chaotic first 45 minutes on Saturday. The Bundesliga bottom-club took a shock lead through Tim Sharke before order was restored through a Jamal Musiala equaliser shortly after. Kane then eventually got on the scoresheet in first-half stoppage time to score his 31st of the season and break yet another Bundesliga record for the England captain.

Goals from Kane and Musiala will have lowered the blood pressure of Thomas Tuchel slightly after a disastrous start to the game in Darmstadt. His side continue their chase of Bayer Leverkusen at the Bundesliga summit and they would cut the lead to seven points with a win on Saturday, having played a game more.
