Hakim Ziyech and Edin Dzeko in line to unite at surprise Serie A side with ex-Chelsea and Man City players available on free transfers

Italian side Bologna have been in touch with Dzeko for over a week and hope to have a definitive answer on his possible arrival this week, Gazzetta dello Sport. Meanwhile, an offer for to Ziyech is also being considered, though no decision has been reached.

Dzeko joined Turkish side Fenerbahce from Inter in 2023 but will leave this summer when his contract expires, while Ziyech's deal at Qatari side Al-Duhail is also coming to an end. Bologna and Dzeko are yet to work out the length and salary of a contract, with the club offering a one-year deal with an option for a second worth €1.5 million per year.

Bologna may be able to convince the pair to join due to their appearance in Europe next season. They won their first trophy in 50 years when they defeated AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final in Rome 1-0. The solitary goal came from Dan N'Doye.

Bologna director Giovanni Sartori hopes to complete the signings of Dzeko and Ziyech to add depth and experience to their side next season. For Dzeko and Ziyech, it could be a chance to keeping playing at the highest levels of Europe.
