  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

One fan @UTDj02 wrote on X: "Wasted talent? Thought he was destined for big things"

User @CollinsMorgreen, added: "What happened to Youssoufa Moukoko? He was very promising. It's sad how these new generational talents can't sustain their form for at least four consistent seasons..."

User @DrBurgerparker was more wishful in his tweet, writing: "Damn! I hope this isn’t where his career ends lol"

On the contrary, @Genie_BettingX's tweet was one filled with despair. He stated: "I’m not sure he’ll make that leap. Feels a bit like Bojan or Halilovic - loads of potential early on, but it didn’t quite happen.."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After breaking through the Dortmund first team in 2020, Moukoko quickly set many records and was touted as a generational talent with a bright future ahead of him. However, after scoring just 18 goals in 99 games and failing to become an important fixture at the Signal Iduna Park, the 20-year-old was sent on loan to France at Nice. The loan spell did not work out as expected as he scored a paltry two goals in 22 games. Now, he will feature in one of the lower leagues with Copenhagen.
