United made the worst possible start, gifting the visitors a goal after just 10 minutes courtesy of some dismal defending. An underhit back pass from Maya Le Tissier was pounced on by Katja Snoeijs, who nipped in and rounded Mary Earps to score the opener.
The hosts huffed and puffed to little effect in the first 45 minutes but were vastly improved after the break. Mille Turner headed home Katie Zelem's corner just before the hour mark to level the game up after a strong start to the second half.
Ella Toone then netted twice in five minutes to put the game out of Everton's reach. The first was a low effort from inside the penalty area after Hannah Blundell had hit the crossbar. The Lionesses star then completed her brace with a composed strike after a cutback from Lisa Naalsund.
There was still time for another goal with Toone involved again as she teed up Leah Galton to fire home United's fourth of the afternoon to secure a much-needed victory for Mark Skinner's side.
