‘Swear I didn’t have my eyes shut’ – Ella Toone pokes fun at her own heading ability as Lionesses star nods Man Utd into Women’s FA Cup semi-finals

Leah Galton opened the scoring for United in the seventh minute before Maya Le Tissier doubled the team's tally on the stroke of half-time. Toone then scored with a header from a close range in the 91st minute to seal a 3-1 win for her team over Sunderland in the Women's FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

Sharing the video of her goal on her Instagram story, Toone wrote: "Swear I didn't have my eyes shut."

Toone has enjoyed a stellar run of form in the 2024-25 campaign, having already scored seven goals in 15 appearances across all competitions, including four in the Women's Super League. The England star has played a crucial role in keeping the Red Devils active in the WSL title race, alongside league leaders and reigning champions Chelsea and Arsenal.

Marc Skinner's side will be back in action on Friday night as they lock horns against rivals Liverpool in a WSL clash away from home.
