The contract extension represents a major change in fortunes for De Gea. The former Spain international began to make mistakes at a worrying rate during his final few seasons with United and spent the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign as a free agent after he was released by the Red Devils.
AFPWHAT NEXT FOR DE GEA?
De Gea's new contract is expected to be announced soon even though Fiorentina are currently without a manager. Raffaele Palladino was most recently in charge but the former Juventus winger agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
