Dani Olmo reveals talks with 'world-class' Luis Diaz as Barcelona star discusses links to Liverpool star and Nico Williams

The Catalan club have been linked with both players, having made Diaz a top target if they fail to get the deal to sign Williams from Athletic Club over the line. The players are currently enjoying their summer break, and Olmo admitted that he sopke to Colombia star Diaz when they met in Ibiza.

Despite Barca's agreement with Spain winger Williams, Athletic Club have complained and called for the club to be audited, while La Liga president Javier Tebas has warned the club cannot register a big new signing at this point. If that deal collapses, a new approach for Diaz could be made, but Olmo has heaped praise on him as he discussed the prospect of a transfer.

Speaking about Diaz, Olmo informed the media: “If we talk about it, I'll keep it to myself. It was a private conversation. I didn't know him. He's a great person. He's a world-class player, and Barca should have the best players. He's proven it. He's a world-class striker and winger, there's no doubt about that.”

He went on to discuss Williams, saying: “Nico is another example. I don't know anything. We'll talk during the holidays. Nico is a very top player, but we have to respect the fact that he's not a Barça player. The best have to play at Barça. Nico is a great player. He's shown the level he brings with his club and the national team. We already know how he would adapt. I like to play with the best", he mentioned.

The Catalan side are set to start their pre-season camp on 13 July. However, fans will have to wait to see if they bring in either Diaz or their primary target, Williams.
