The rumored fee for Almiron's signature is $10.39M (ÂŁ8.5M), and the club has two open Designated Player spots it is looking to fill this offseason. The report added that the club is looking to fill one slot with a striker, and the other with a winger, and Almiron fits the latter.
The club is reportedly targeting Middlesbrough forward Emmanuel Latte Lath and Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard for the striker position, while Almiron appears to be a primary target on the wing.
The Paraguayan has only logged 398 minutes across all competitions in 2024-25, and is in line for a January exit from the Premier League outfit.
Almiron starred with Atlanta in 2017 and 2018, helping them win MLS Cup in his second season. He was a league MVP finalist in 2018 and was named MLS Best XI in both campaigns. He was sold from Atlanta to Newcastle in 2019 for a then-league-record fee of $25.6M (ÂŁ21M).
