Leipzig made an agreement with Simons, 22, that he would be allowed to leave in the summer and they are ready to cash in, with Bild reporting that the club must sell players to raise funds. They are looking to recoup €100 million (£85m/$114m) - a total they are sure to surpass by selling both 21-year-old Sesko and Simons. Leipzig also feel they are not getting value for the €12m (£10m/$14m) salary they pay the inconsistent Simons.

Leipzig are fourth in the Bundesliga with four games to go and will look to strengthen their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League by beating third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.
