According to A Bola, Arsenal are reportedly ready to up their bid for Gyokeres as the London club lose hope of landing a deal with RB Leipzig for Sesko. Gyokeres too has made his situation clear to the Sporting camp after threatening the club with incoming strikes should Sporting owner Frederico Varandas not respect his commitment.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Gyokeres transfer saga continues with Arsenal now willing to increase their transfer offer from €55 million (£46m/$63m) to an amount closer to the €80m (£68m/$92m) that Sporting expect. The Gunners were after Leipzig's Sesko, but the German club's valuation of the Serbian has dissuaded the London club. The pressure is building up on Varandas after Gyokeres claimed that he would not show up at Alvalade for pre-season.
DID YOU KNOW?
Varandas has already made himself clear, stating that he would not fall for the blackmail and threats, as such tactics don't work on him. The Sporting president also stated that there was never an agreement to sell Gyokeres for €60m (£51m/$69m), adding that the striker's agent is playing games to force a move.
