Arsenal make Joshua Kimmich move! Gunners hold talks over potential free transfer as Bayern Munich contract stand-off rumbles on

Kimmich, 30, has yet to commit to a new contract with Bayern despite his current deal expiring in the summer. Bayern have proposed a renewal that would keep him at the club until 2028, with a salary in the range of €20-22 million (£16.5m-£18m/$21m-$23m) gross per year. However, the midfielder has yet to accept the terms, according to Sky Germany.

The Bundesliga leaders remain open to further negotiations but have set a limit on their financial offer, unwilling to increase his salary beyond the current proposal. While Bayern believe Kimmich is holding out for a better deal, sources close to the player suggest his decision is based on considering the best sporting project for the next stage of his career.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their midfield in the upcoming transfer window, with both Thomas Partey and Jorginho set to become free agents in the summer. The Gunners have identified Kimmich as a potential addition to their squad and have already held talks with his entourage in an attempt to secure his signature.

The north London club are not alone in their pursuit of the versatile midfielder. Paris Saint-Germain have maintained long-standing interest in Kimmich, with Luis Enrique’s side previously engaging in talks last summer. Clubs such as Barcelona, Inter, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Liverpool have shown an interest, but contrary to other reports, they have not made any new attempts to sign Kimmich.

Bayern are aware of the interest from abroad, and Kimmich has reportedly informed the club about two written offers he has received. Meanwhile, Kimmich's team-mate, Harry Kane, has also been linked with a move to Arsenal despite his connections to rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
