Arsenal confirm squad for pre-season Asia Tour with £52m summer signing left out and still no Viktor Gyokeres

The Gunners' pre-season preparations take them to Singapore, where they will kick off their Asian tour with a clash against AC Milan. Ahead of that fixture, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has named his touring squad, which is headlined by the inclusions of new signings Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.

Madueke has been excluded, as the newly-acquired winger is rested after his exploits for Chelsea at the Club World Cup. The squad is the expected blend of senior stars and highly-rated prospects.

Goalkeepers: David Raya, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Tommy Setford, Alexei Rojas-Fedorushchenko.

Defenders: William Saliba, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jurrien Timber, Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Riccardo Calafiori, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Josh Nichols, Marli Salmon.

Midfielders: Martin Odegaard, Christian Norgaard, Mikel Merino, Sambi Lokonga, Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice, Louie Copley.

Forwards: Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, Reiss Nelson, Kai Havertz, Ismeal Kabia, Max Dowman, Andre Harriman-Annous.

The Gunners players will remain in Singapore for a clash with Premier League rivals Newcastle, before heading to Hong Kong to take part in the first north London derby to take place outside of the UK. While these pre-season festivities and preparations are kicking off, Arsenal's brain trust will be working hard on securing the services of Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres. The two clubs are still hammering out details over the terms of add-on fees in a deal that could be worth around £69m ($95m).
