  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Manchester United's versatile 22-year-old struggled for minutes under Ten Hag but has since found his feet under Amorim, netting five goals and providing seven assists. He recently sat down with SuperSport to discuss life in the North West, admitting he is much happier now than he was in the first few months of the 2024-25 campaign.

    WHAT AMAD SAID

In the interview, Amad said: "Yeah, let’s say maybe it’s confidence because now I’m playing a lot of games. Like I am now, I’ve been every time like this but maybe the game time and confidence. But now I’m happy to play more games and I just want to fight for the club, for the team, every time the manager gives me the confidence and gives me the chance to play for this club, I just want to show I can play for this club. My dream is to achieve a lot of things with this club, that’s why I’m here. I want to fight for this badge and let’s see what the future brings."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Amorim has not hesitated to put his full trust in Amad and looks keen to utilise the Ivorian as his talisman going forward. Reports suggest United are in talks to extend Amad's contract but it may take much more than that to dig the club out of the hole they are currently in. If you take away Amad's goal contributions, the Red Devils would be in the middle of a relegation battle and there is no doubt the youngster is feeling a heap of pressure on his shoulders.

WHAT NEXT FOR AMAD AND MAN UTD?

The Red Devils host Newcastle at Old Trafford on Monday night. If Amorim's men are to make their way back into the top half of the Premier League table, they are going to need to start winning these kind of games against rivals competing for the same positions as them in the league.
