  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

It has been reported that earlier that evening, the gang entered the property through the back patio doors. The 24-year-old's family's presence at home at the time of the occurrence is unknown. A car was later discovered abandoned three miles away, and police confirmed it was stolen. No arrests have been made so far. However, it is reported that this could be the doing of a gang named the 'away days gang' who attempt to break into Premier League footballers' homes during their away matches.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Isak is the second Toons player to be raided in recent times after Joelinton's home was broken into in January. The Brazilian had burglars target his mansion in January while he was at St. James' Park watching his team lose to Manchester City. Police were called to the Ponteland address right away but by the time they got there, the invaders had already departed. Gangs have targeted English players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, and Jack Grealish, hoping to profit from unoccupied houses left by players during games.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR ISAK?

On the field, Isak has been a key member of Eddie Howe's side and has been crucial in their hunt for European football next season. He will be involved next up when Newcastle take on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, April 13.
