    WHAT HAPPENED?

According to The Sun, 10 relatives were watching Grealish play for City against Everton on Wednesday night when they heard noises upstairs and dogs barking. The terrified family - which included the winger's fiancee Sasha Attwood, his parents, grandma, two sisters and brother - were forced to hit 'panic buttons' before running to hide for cover in the £5.6 million ($7.1m) mansion. The report says police rushed to the scene and a helicopter searched the area but the perpetrators were able to escape with £1m ($1.3m) worth of jewellery.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Grealish reportedly moved into the house, which has extensive security and perimeter fencing, before Christmas. While the search was going on, police told their neighbours to lock their doors and stay in their homes. It is understood that the 28-year-old raced home to console his shaken family.

    DID YOU KNOW?

This raid is the latest on Premier League stars as West Ham defender Kurt Zouma had his property targeted in Essex shortly before Christmas. It is said that an armed gang raided his home and stole £100,000 in cash in early December.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Cheshire Police will continue to investigate this matter and a force spokesperson told The Sun: "At around 9.50pm on Wednesday December 27 police were called to reports of a burglary. The caller reported that a number of items had been stolen. Officers supported by police dogs and National Police Air Service were deployed and searches were conducted in the local area but there was no trace of the suspects. No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police."
