Alejandro Garnacho to Spurs?! Tottenham launch shock enquiry for Man United star after Mathys Tel transfer rejection as Red Devils demand £60m for Argentine
Tottenham have reportedly enquired about Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho after being rejected by Bayern Munich ace Mathys Tel.
Tottenham looked set to seal a deal for the 19-year-old after agreeing a £50 million ($62m/€60m) transfer with Bayern this week. However, the Frenchman snubbed their advances, opening the door for United, Chelsea, and more. As Spurs try to regroup, the Daily Mail claims they have been in touch with the Red Devils about £60m-rated ($74.4m/€71.8m) Garnacho.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
United are under pressure to sell in the winter transfer window to stay in line with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. Garnacho would go down as 'pure profit' on the balance sheet as he is an academy product, and Chelsea and Napoli are interested in taking him on. But whether anyone stumps up £60m remains to be seen.
DID YOU KNOW?
The report adds it is unclear whether the 20-year-old Argentine would consider a move to Tottenham at this stage. Spurs' initial enquiry was around a loan deal after their bid to sign Tel fell flat.
