Ahead of Chivas’ second leg against América in the Champions Cup Round of 16, Alan Pulido broke his silence, dispelling any notion of a rivalry with Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez. Instead, he emphasized their long-standing bond from their time together with the Mexican National Team at the 2014 World Cup.
"It has been very good; we played together in the 2014 World Cup, we both talk and try to contribute the best for the team. There is always that healthy competition needed within a squad,” Pulido said.
Aware that both are veterans and have a strong influence within the locker room, Pulido and Chicharito are focused on guiding Chivas’ younger players.
“We always support the young players who are pushing forward very well. We will try to back them up so that when we are no longer at the club, they come in with a strong mentality and solid foundations to contribute good things to Chivas. I believe we both have great responsibility within the team; we share a brotherhood and a strong connection to add to the squad,” Pulido added.
