Negeri Sembilan, ATM and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) - in all of these teams, the twin brothers of Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha have always played together on the same side. Today if selected, they will hit a historic mark in their 12-year professional career, Aidil and Zaquan could be going up against one another.

Given that their position in their respective teams in JDT and Perak, Aidil and Zaquan could very well not only line up on opposite sides of the pitch but also be challenging one another. Zaquan the wide forward will be looking to get past his elder Aidil in helping Perak find the goal(s) they need to win the Super League match.

Turning 30 years old this year, both players are experience enough to know its part and parcel of the match. Zaquan isn't even the slight bit worried that their actions on the field will impact their brotherhood. In fact, Zaquan points that he's just as determined as he is against any other team or player, and just wants the best result for his team.

"We are brothers outside of the pitch but on it, we have to be professional and play for the badge on the chest. This is the first time in my career that I'll be facing my own brother in a match. It's a healthy competition between us," said Zaquan on the Perak's official website.

Having been part of the JDT team previously, Zaquan is also well aware of the troubles that hangs over whenever these two teams face up against each other in recent times. To which the Seremban-born player can only hope for the positives and wants the team to be inspired by the presence of fans after playing two home matches behind closed doors.

"Hopefully, the team will be boosted by the returning spectators as we are facing a strong team with many quality players. I'm also hopeful that the fans will be on good behaviour so as not to bring a bad image to the people of Perak and the team," added Zaquan.

As was seen during the European Championship in 2016 when Taulant Xhaka went up against Granit Xhaka in the Albania v Switzerland match, both brothers did their utmost for their respective teams and still remain as close as ever. Holding an even closer bond, Aidil and Zaquan will surely not let sentimentality affect their performance nor vice versa.
