Sporting CP team news

The hosts will have to cope without Nuno Santos and vice-captain Daniel Bragança, both of whom are sidelined with long-term cruciate ligament injuries. On the bright side, Luis Suarez found the back of the net from the penalty spot on matchday two, momentarily pulling his side level.

Sporting's European campaign began in style, though, as a Francisco Trincao brace, coupled with strikes from Alisson de Almeida Santos and Geovany Tcherno Quenda — secured a comprehensive opening victory.

Marseille team news

As for the visitors, Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi is dealing with several fitness concerns. Geoffrey Kondogbia remains out with a calf problem, Amine Gouiri is nursing a shoulder injury, Facundo Medina is battling an ankle issue, and Hamed Traore faces a late test due to a leg knock.

Veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to defy age, becoming the oldest player in Champions League history to register three goal contributions in a single match, scoring once and assisting twice against Ajax at 36 years and 104 days. The Gabonese star combined brilliantly with Mason Greenwood and Igor Paixao, the latter bagging a brace in that emphatic victory.
