Manchester United Women open their WSL season at home this Sunday as they welcome Leicester City to Leigh Sports Village.

United head into the campaign on the back of an encouraging 2023-24, finishing third in what was an ultra-competitive top-four race. Yet, just like the men's side, they've been hampered by tight finances over the summer, with transfer activity kept to a minimum. As for team news, United are expected to stick closely to the lineup used in Europe last week. Rolfo remains sidelined through injury, but Zigiotti Olme has already been blooded in Champions League action and should get the nod again here. Up front, in-form Elisabeth Terland looks set to spearhead the attack after firing in four goals from her first two outings.

On the other side, Sunday marks a fresh chapter for Leicester under new boss Rick Passmoor, who was only appointed in midweek. 

With limited time to put his stamp on the squad, he may opt to stick largely with the side that ended last season. One new face who could feature, though, is summer recruit Celeste Boureille, ready to anchor the Foxes’ midfield after her move from Montpellier.
