Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is planning to build a state of the art stadia in Busia County, Goal can exclusively reveal.
Sources in the County where the player hails from have revealed that he has already been in touch with Governor Sospeter Ojaamong to discuss modalities’ of undertaking such a project.
Busia County has no modern stadium despite it being home to some of the country’s top players. “He has talked to the governor on the possibility of getting land to undertake the project.
"The matter is still in its infancy stages and nothing much has been agreed on. The discussions will continue at the end of the season when he returns home after the season ends,” said our source.
He added: “Wanyama wants to use this project as a way of giving back to the community in a sport that has given him so much.” Wanyama is currently having a good season with English Premier League side Southampton, who are chasing for Champions League spot alongside Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
