Usop steps down from head coach role at Sarawak

Pengiran Bala will take over the helm at Sarawak for the remainder of the 2017 season

Another one bites the dust.

Sarawak became the sixth team to make a change to the head coach position after David Usop decided to step away from the team.

Change also took place earlier in the season with Kedah, Felda United, Melaka United, PKNS and Penang - although the circumstances with Kedah was a slightly different one.

It was a voluntary decision announced by Usop himself on Wednesday in a press conference held in Kuching.

The Crocs are currently in 10th spot in the Super League standings, one place outside of the relegation zone albeit with a three point gap over 11th placed, Melaka.

It has been a difficult run for Sarawak and Usop as they have only picked up one solitary win in their last 11 matches in all competitions.

Assistant coach, Pengiran Bala is tasked to take helm of the team for the remainder of the Super League and Malaysia Cup matches.

And Bala's first match in charge couldn't have been more difficult as they travel to Johor Bahru to play against current league leaders, Johor Darul Ta'zim on Saturday.
