Statz: The secret weapon FPL managers will use this season

In today's football landscape, stats rule everything. From fantasy football to betting to post-match pub debates, data is at the heart of how we watch, think, and win. But in a world where we’re drowning in numbers, it’s never been harder to find the information that actually matters.

That's where Statz comes in - the platform built for football fans, bettors, and fantasy players who want smarter data, sharper tools, and a genuine edge.

In focus: Statz FPL – The ultimate hub for your Fantasy Premier League season

It's that time of year again. Fantasy Premier League managers everywhere are frantically tweaking formations, making last-minute transfers, and debating captain picks ahead of the big kick-off this weekend – starting with champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth.

At Statz, we know the thrill – and the frustration – of trying to find that winning edge in FPL. Our brand-new tools for Fantasy Football have been built by fantasy managers, for fantasy managers. In fact, two members of our small team are regular top 10k global finishers, so we know exactly what it takes to climb the ranks.

All the data, none of the guesswork

Picking the right players can feel like a shot in the dark. That’s where Statz comes in. Using the Official FPL API, we combine up-to-the-minute player prices and points updates with our detailed team and player data tables. Whether you want to spot in-form players, track underperformers, or analyse how new signings fared outside the Premier League, it’s all there at your fingertips.

Our FPL Megatool lets you dive even deeper – comparing players across points, bonus returns, and the new CBIT metrics (Clearances, Blocks, Interceptions, Tackles) to find hidden value.

The Massey Model Projections – predicting the future

Our secret weapon is the Massey Model, a cutting-edge machine learning system that predicts the outcome of every Premier League match – and, crucially, individual player performances. Whether you want the most likely goal scorers, assist makers, or clean sheet bankers, the Massey Model lets you build your squad based on cold, hard probabilities rather than gut feeling.

Stay ahead with predicted line-ups

Our Head-to-Head Summary gives you recent form guides, projections, and most importantly, predicted starting XIs for each fixture – so you can avoid those dreaded one-point cameos and keep track of injuries, suspensions, and rotation risks.

Six-week player projections – plan like a pro

Another time-saving weapon in your FPL arsenal is our six-week player projections. Designed to help you target the must-have players and transfers for the weeks ahead, this tool allows you to filter by team or position, or sort projections for your chosen gameweek. Working in perfect harmony with our fixture ticker, it highlights exactly who is expected to deliver in the short-to-medium term. Like much of our hub, it’s powered by the Massey Model, so your planning is backed by serious predictive power.

Plan ahead with the fixture ticker

New for this season, our Fixture Ticker uses Massey Model projections to colour-code every upcoming Premier League game by difficulty. It’s the fastest way to plan transfers and spot when a run of good (or bad) fixtures is coming. Another benefit of the fixture ticker is that the power ranking system within the Massey Model that powers these projections will update the ticker weekly based on team form, injuries and suspensions.

CBIT & CBITR – the new game-changer

This season, FPL has introduced CBIT (for defenders) and CBITR (for midfielders and forwards, which also includes recoveries) into its scoring system. These extra stats mean defensive actions and work off the ball can now make a real difference – and Statz makes it easy to identify the players set to benefit most. Check out our CBIT data tables here.

Top tips from our resident FPL expert

Our resident expert George Massey (inventor of the Massey Model) has 2 Top 10k global finishes in FPL in the last 2 seasons. He has these 3 top tips for every FPL manager this current season:

1. Keep Flexible - focus on player price points as much as the personnel of your squad. For example having a forward or two at the higher price points (7.5-9m) allows you to pivot to other striker bandwagons easily without taking hits.

2. Strong Bench - begin the season with at least 2 players on your bench that will start games. The opening fixtures are unpredictable and may cause you to rely on your bench cover. Also with the addition of double chips this year, an early bench boost could be beneficial.

3. Chip Strategy - more important than agonising over specific players in your squad, look ahead to when you might want to use your chips. For example, check for when the top teams have an easier run of fixtures, this is when you will want to load up on their players and use your wildcard. This will then impact how you start the season, knowing you only need to build your squad up until you wildcard.
