RUMOURS: Chelsea lining up Benteke move

The Belgian striker is reportedly seen as a replacement for Diego Costa, whose future was thrown into question following links to a move to China

Chelsea are lining up a move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, according to ESPN.

Antonio Conte is reportedly worried his Blues side will be left short should Brazil-born Spain international Diego Costa act upon his flirtations with the Chinese Super League.

Benteke has struck on eight occasions in the Premier League this season following his big-money move to Selhurst Park in the summer.

And, though new Eagles boss Sam Allardyce is determined to keep hold of his star striker, Chelsea are rumoured to be ready to test their resolve with a January bid.

The Blues have also been linked with moves for Swansea's Fernando Llorente and Everton's Romelu Lukaku, who spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2011-2014.
