Paul Pogba, Mesut Ozil and Gareth Bale are among the footballing talent to have made the Sunday Times Rich List: Richest Young Sports Stars.

Leading figures at Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid are joined on the chart by the likes of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

It comes as no surprise to find football dominating the rundown of the highest-earning personalities within British sport.

Madrid star Bale is tied to a deal at the Santiago Bernabeu which earns him a reported £18.2 million-a-year ($25m) after tax, while Pogba was brought back to England in 2016 on a lucrative contract at Old Trafford.

Ozil has committed to fresh terms with Arsenal this season, following lengthy discussions, while Argentine forward Aguero was revealed to have penned a new deal with Premier League champions City in January 2017.

Alexis Sanchez is another of those to have been on the move of late, after joining United in the January transfer window, David de Gea and Juan Mata are established stars for the Red Devils and Spain and Willian has emerged as a key figure for Chelsea.

They all make the top 15 of richest stars in British sport, alongside Everton winger Theo Walcott, Liverpool frontman Daniel Sturridge and West Ham striker Andy Carroll.

There are just three non-footballing figures among that elite group, with two of those leading the way.

Golf superstar Rory McIlroy – a four-time major winner – tops the charts after seeing his net worth increase by £28m ($38m) over the last 12 months to £110m ($149m).

Two-time Wimbledon champion Sir Andy Murray sits just below the Northern Irishman, while world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua fills fifth spot.
