Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli revealed a positive side of his Jekyll and Hyde character by helping a boy who had been bullied at school, according to The Sun.

The ill tempered Italian, who has made the headlines all season after various spats with players and managers in the game, helped a youngster confront the bullies by speaking to his head teacher.

Balotelli spotted the boy playing truant from school as he watched the team train, and drove the child to see his head teacher, reportedly acting as a mediator between the bully and the victim.

After the matter was resolved the Italian sped off in his Maserati.

Balotelli has frequently been in the news this season after ridiculing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere at an awards ceremony, throwing darts at youth team players and declaring that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho needed to learn some manners and respect.
