Kaizer Chiefs to decide on four trialists next week

Kaizer Chiefs will decide next week whether or not to sign any of the four trialists that have been training with the first team, Goal can exclusively reveal.

Striker Gustavo Paez, as well as defenders, Pedro Henrique Dias DeAmorim, Miracle Gabeya and Ismael Toure started training with Chiefs at the beginning of the week under the watchful eye of Steve Komphela and his technical team.

Amakhosi publically admitted that they were looking for a quality striker for the second half of the season to increase their chances of winning the PSL title.

A source within the Amakhosi camp revealed that the quartet has been impressive so far, but as things stand, the club can only sign one foreign player.

This is simply because Camaldine Abraw is still very much in Steve Komphela’s plans even though the Soweto giants decided not to register him with the PSL for the current season as he’s still injured.

Abraw is expected to return to full training either in March or April, but it is unclear at this stage whether or not he will be registered when he comes back.

“The four players are doing well, but we will only know next week if any of them will be signed,” the source told Goal.

“As you know, the club registered only three foreign internationals for this season, and despite having two spots left [for the remainder of the season], they can only sign one player because there’s still Abraw, who is still has a future at the club,” the source concluded.
