Gor Mahia striker George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo is sidelined for a week and will play no role in the team’s on-pitch activities for the next nine days.

Goal has reliably learnt that the league’s Most Valuable Player in the 2010 season picked up a knock in day one of training after the Christmas break the reason why he did not travel with the team to Sudan for the friendly against Al- Hilal scheduled for Tuesday.

“He picked a knock and is sidelined. The doctors will assess him in the next four days to give us a report on the same,” club deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala said.

Odhiambo was one of the key forwards for the club last season scoring six goals as K’Ogalo’s title bid ended in tatters.
