Gor Mahia deal for defender falls through

Gor Mahia have failed in their search for National Super League defender Bernard Ochieng’.

K’Ogalo had tabled their offer for the Vihiga United star but the talks have hit brick-wall following resistance from the player himself.

Vihiga’s head of communication Peter Atsiaya had told Goal that the player would like a team where he can get more playing time seeing Gor Mahia as a club where getting playing time might be a problem for him.

On Friday, Organizing Secretary Judith Nyangi confirmed that K’Ogalo have been forced to grant the player his wish by stopping the negotiations at least for this transfer window. “We wanted to sign Ochieng’ (Bernard) but he was not free to join us. So we thought it would be wise if we stop the search for now until next time.”

Sources closer to the talks have told Goal that Gor Mahia had tabled Sh250, 000 as sign-on fee.
