Although reports suggested that the midfielder had previously signed for the Old Trafford outfit, a deal was completed only last week, with Juventus having tried to move in and complete his signing. Manchester City were also interested in the player.

Traore, who will turn 17 in January, has penned a four-year professional contract with Jose Mourinho’s outfit, though the first of these will be spent in the youth team.

The Sarcelles-born player spent last season with his hometown club in France’s amateur ranks, and he was previously with Paris Saint-Germain, though he departed the Ligue 1 runners-up amid fears that he would not have enough game time at the Parc des Princes.

Indeed, when he joined up with the Under-16 national team, he was the only one in the entire France set up who was not with a professional side.

Now, though, he has joined one of the biggest clubs in the world.
