Sevilla v Real Madrid Betting: Familiar foes should entertain once more

Thursday evening saw these two sides play out a dramatic 3-3 draw in the second leg of their Copa Del Rey last 16 clash at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan, which handed Los Blancos a 6-3 aggregate win.

The draw was secured with a 93rd minute equalizer from Karim Benzema and was signifcant as it saw Madrid set a new Spanish record of 40 consecutive matches without defeat.

Both sides rested players for Thursday's game, with their managers aware of the importance of Sunday's league meeting. A win for the visitors would underline their status as title favourites, especially given the recent troubles of Barcelona and giving them an even healthier lead at the top, while a victory for Sevilla would move them to within a point of Zinedine Zidane's men.

There is plenty at stake then in a game where Paddy Power offer Sevilla at 13/5 (3.60) while Madrid are priced at 5/6 (1.83) and the draw is available at 11/4 (3.75).

While the result on Thursday was greeted with delight by fans and players alike, the fact remains that Real Madrid have won just one of their last five visits to the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Nevertheless, they will believe they can claim another win, and with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Keylor Navas all rested on Thursday, Los Blancos will have an even more potent line-up for the league encounter.

Our tip for the midweek Copa game was backing the visitors to score over 1.5 goals although the odds quoted were more favorable than the 4/7 (1.57) priced for Sunday's league encounter so it could pay to look elsewhere but contuine along a similar train of thought. This fixture tends to see plenty of goals scored with the last 15 meetings seeing 71 goals.

That is an average of 4.7 per game, and given those statitsics, the price of 5/4 (2.25) for over 3.5 goals must surely be of interest. This selection has paid out in four of the last five meetings between these two sides, and there is little to make us think that this will be anything other than another open, high-scoring game.
