Crystal Palace v Burnley Betting: Eagles to pile more misery on sinking Clarets

Comments
Our tipster thinks that the shot-shy Clarets will struggle to make much of an impact against Sam Allardyce's side at Selhurst Park on Saturday night

Crystal Palace will look to make an immediate return to winning ways when Burnley are the visitors to Selhurst Park for Saturday's evening kick off in the Premier League.

The Eagles suffered a setback when they were beaten by Christian Eriksen's stunning long range strike for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, but Sam Allardyce's men have chalked up six wins in their last nine Premier League matches, losing just twice.

As a consequence, Palace have pulled away from the bottom three in the Premier League and the south London side have their eyes on ending the campaign in the top half of the table - a remarkable reversal in fortunes given that avoiding relegation was the primary objective when Allardyce took up the reins from Alan Pardew back in December.

The Eagles can be backed at 3/4 (1.75) with dabblebet to move closer to attaining that objective with a win in this one while there is 5/2 (2.50) that the side from south London are forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Burnley will have to banish their away-day blues if they are to take all three points at Selhurst Park. Sean Dyche's side are the only team in the top tier yet to win a league match away from home this season.

Indeed, the Clarets have collected just four points from their 17 matches on the road thus far this term and 7/2 (4.50) is available that Burnley buck the trend by bagging a win in south London.

Such an outcome would certainly be welcome for the Clarets; it would represent only their second win in 12 Premier League matches and would see Dyche's side leapfrog the Eagles in the Premier League table, having slipped down the standings in recent weeks following a string of disappointing results.

Furthermore, victory for Burnley would go a long way to easing the Clarets' relegation fears, for Swansea City - third from bottom - are now just five points adrift of the team from Turf Moor with four games to go.

Palace, though, will provide a stiff test - Allardyce's charges have found their feet in recent weeks and, despite going down to title-chasing Spurs in their last outing, the Eagles should be in good spirits, having beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool within the last month.

There have been more than two goals scored in five of Palace's last six games and the odds compilers offer just 8/11 (1.73) that the trend continues in this clash - backing a glut of goals, though, will not necessarily provide punters with a path to profit, for the Clarets have been painfully shot-shy in recent weeks.

Burnley have scored just two goals in their last six games, with five of those fixtures featuring fewer than three goals. Furthermore, Palace have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five home wins in all competitions.

The 3/4 (1.75) quote for Allardyce's charges to take all three points will certainly have its supporters ahead of Saturday's evening kick off from the Premier League, but better value may lie in siding with the Eagles to win without conceding at 17/10 (2.70) with dabblebet; the selection would have landed in each of the Eagles' last four league wins at Selhurst Park, while the Clarets have scored in just two of their last six outings.

Crystal Palace to win to nil at 17/10 (2.70) for a 2pt stake with dabblebet
