  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Pogba will finally return to the football pitch in the 2025-26 campaign as he is set to sign for AS Monaco. The Frenchman has remained without a club since November 2024, when Juventus mutually terminated his contract. The player's 18-month doping ban was lifted in March this year and since then, he has been training alone to keep himself fit ahead of a new move.

Earlier this year, Pogba was strongly linked with a move to Marseille, where he could have reunited with ex-Manchester United team-mate Mason Greenwood. The Ligue 1 giants, however, did not come up with a concrete offer and the World Cup-winning French midfielder is on his way to Monaco. According to RMC Sport, there were several reasons why Les Phoceens never made the effort to approach the player.

  • TELL ME MORE...

While the Marseille management, including manager Roberto De Zerbi, is known to be an admirer of Pogba's playing abilities, the club had too many options in the centre of the park in their squad. They were also unsure of whether the 32-year-old would be in his best shape after remaining off the pitch for nearly two years.
