WHAT HAPPENED?
The former Liverpool star has been linked with a move away from the Premier League this summer as he is all set to return to Brazil and sign for top-division side Vasco da Gama. It was earlier reported that the player is trying to terminate his existing contract with Aston Villa to sign for his new club as a free agent.

THE EXPLANATION
However, according to ESPN, the Villans have refused to release the player permanently this summer and are not willing to terminate his deal which still runs until 2026. Instead, the English side will allow the midfielder to move out on a season-long loan deal.
