Salah is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield, meaning that a big decision will need to be made on his future this summer. There has been talk of clubs from the Saudi Pro League rekindling interest in the 31-year-old forward this summer.

The Athletic is, however, reporting that Liverpool intend to keep Salah on their books. He is said to have offered no indication that he is looking for a new challenge after seven years on Merseyside that have delivered 210 goals alongside Premier League and Champions League title triumphs.

Teams in the Middle East are reportedly ready to accept that stance, as they can save money in the next window and wait until 2025 before approaching Salah as a free agent. The likes of Al-Ittihad, who saw talk of £200 million ($251m) bids speculated on in 2023, are not expected to make aggressive plays this year.

Liverpool are also understandably keen to avoid losing Salah in the same summer as talismanic manager Jurgen Klopp walks away from the club - with the pair having butted heads during the Reds' last Premier League outing at West Ham. Discussions regarding another extension to the Egypt international’s terms may take place at some stage, after a change in the dugout is made, but for now the expectation is that a productive working relationship will continue.
