Real Madrid are always linked with star players as Los Blancos' strong financial and sporting position has always helped them target top performers from other clubs. As such, Spanish publication Fichajes has reported they are now said to be interested in Saliba, who has had two strong seasons with Arsenal.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Saliba has formed a superb partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and the Gunners will not be very keen to lose out on the highly-rated 23-year-old, who has a contract with the North London side until 2027.
Getty Images SportDID YOU KNOW?
Real Madrid reportedly sent scouts to watch Saliba during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Aston Villa as they look to further understand whether the Frenchman would fit into the squad.
WHAT NEXT FOR SALIBA?
The central defender is currently with the French national team and he will likely be in Les Bleus' second Nations League group-stage game against Belgium on September 9.
