  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Minus Lauren James, who pulled out of the line-up late on, Chelsea put out arguably their strongest XI for Sunday's FA Cup fifth round clash with second-tier Crystal Palace, but were struggling to break them down. That was until Ramirez popped up with a match-winning contribution in the 81st minute, as her incredible flick guided the Blues to a 1-0 victory and a place in the quarter-finals.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chelsea brought Ramirez into the club in January following the news that Sam Kerr had suffered a devastating ACL injury during a warm weather training camp over the winter break. The Blues paid big money for the Colombia international, so much so that she will become the women's game's most expensive player if the add-ons in the deal are paid. Keira Walsh's move to Barcelona cost the Catalans £350,000 ($400,000) but Ramirez's fee could total £426,000 ($537,000).
