USMNT star Christian Pulisic sounds ‘bring on Copa America’ rallying cry as AC Milan forward prepares to captain his country at major international tournament

The AC Milan forward, fresh from posting a career-best return of 15 goals at club level in 2023-24, has been passed the armband by Gregg Berhalter heading into a major international tournament on home soil. He has been billed as ‘Captain America’ for some time and has grown accustomed to handling such pressure.

Pulisic was among the goals on his latest appearance for the United States, with his clever free-kick earning a 1-1 draw with star-studded Brazil. He now boasts 29 efforts for his country, through 68 appearances, and remains a talismanic presence in an exciting squad.

The U.S. will be looking to Pulisic for inspiration when lining up in continental competition, and the 25-year-old is ready to play his part in what could be a productive summer – with the Olympic Games in Paris to follow on the back of Copa duty.

Pulisic will not be involved in a bid for gold medal glory in France, but he will figure prominently for the USMNT over the coming weeks. They are due to open their Copa campaign against Bolivia on June 23, before going on to face Panama and Uruguay in their other Group C fixtures.
