USMNT link-up at the City Ground? Cameron Carter Vickers touted to join Matt Turner at Nottingham Forest - but two other Premier League clubs also interested in Celtic star

The defender has been a standout player for Celtic since he arrived on loan from Tottenham in August 2021. He was part of Ange Postecoglou's double-winning side, with the Hoops eventually making his move permanent for £6 million. Carter-Vickers' stock continues to rise in Scotland, which has led Forest to consider submitting a bid for the 26-year-old, according to SBI Soccer.

West Ham and Brentford are also considering making formal bids for the centre-back, who has a contract with Celtic until the summer of 2026, but Forest may have the edge given the presence of his USMNT team-mate Turner between the sticks. Despite struggling with a series of injuries over the past year, Carter-Vickers remains a key player for manager Brendan Rodgers, which has seen him make 13 Premiership appearances and four Champions League outings.

Forest, who have been charged by the English Premier League for breaching profit and sustainability rules, might explore a deal that involves players like Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna, who are deemed as surplus to requirements at City Ground. While a move to Celtic for Worrall seems unlikely due to his past with Rangers, Scotland international McKenna could be a viable option for the Hoops given they can offer him regular first-team football in preparation for the upcoming European Championship.

Forest will appeal against the PSR charge by the Premier League, with a verdict to be delivered before the season ends. Meanwhile, they can continue with their transfer business in January and face no obstruction in pursuing a potential deal for U.S. men's national team star Carter-Vickers, who will be hoping to earn a place in Gregg Berhalter's squad for the 2024 Copa America.
