Tottenham to return for Eberechi Eze? Spurs could make fresh move for Crystal Palace hero with money saved to complete Mathys Tel permanent transfer

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham are weighing up a renewed approach for Eze, with manager Ange Postecoglou keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign. With funds originally allocated for a permanent deal for Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel, Spurs may now pivot towards securing the services of Eze, who has impressed in his wide role at Selhurst Park.

The north London club inserted a £47.5 million option to buy Tel when they struck the loan deal in January, but the French forward has failed to fully convince during his stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now, with the season wrapped and recruitment plans under review, the club could redirect that significant investment towards more reliable talent.

Following the season-ending defeat to Brighton, Ange Postecoglou voiced his desire for a more balanced squad, urging the board to target players with top-level experience. Spurs have leaned heavily into a youth-focused recruitment strategy under technical director Johan Lange, signing emerging talents with the intent of developing them into long-term assets. While several youngsters stepped up when called upon during the campaign, their lack of consistency and physical presence often left the side vulnerable, particularly in key fixtures.

While Tottenham consider a wide range of targets, their name has also surfaced in discussions surrounding Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane. The German international, whose contract is due to expire next year, has yet to agree on terms for an extension with the Bundesliga champions.

Sane’s agent, the influential Pini Zahavi, has reportedly offered his client to a number of European clubs, with Spurs among those approached.
