'Ted Lasso is now a women’s coach' – Huge Season 4 update that leaves the door open for Jason Sudeikis’ character to make AFC Richmond return

Speculation has been raging since the autumn of 2024 regarding a potential return to Apple TV+ streaming services for the lovable American tactician. He appeared to have walked away from management when severing ties with AFC Richmond at the end of an eventful stint in England in the most recent series.

There were, however, always different directions in which the show could be taken and a “reboot” for 2025 is being mooted. New characters and storylines are reportedly ready to be unveiled by Lasso star and writer Jason Sudeikis.

It has been claimed that production on a fourth series is pencilled in for a spring or early summer start date, with leading members of the cast and crew having already aired their excitement at reprising award-winning roles.

According to showbiz insider ‘MyTimeToShineHello’, Ted Lasso will be brought back to the small screen as he is "now a women’s soccer coach". That dramatic shift will leave the door open for a return to Richmond to be made.

In series three, PR expert Keeley Jones and club owner Rebecca Welton floated the idea of launching a women’s team at Nelson Road. Their dream appears to have become a reality, allowing Lasso to return alongside a number of familiar faces.
