'Off you pop' - Sean Dyche desperate to keep Everton job after takeover is complete but admits he hasn't heard from prospective new owners

Dyche was adamant of his desire to still be Everton manager when they move into their new stadium at the start of next season and believes he has had the 'hardest job' in recent times. The ex-Burnley boss, however, has admitted he has yet to hear from Everton's prospective new owners about any assurances over his future, although he also insisted he did not expect to do so.

The Friedkin Group, led by Dan Friedkin, agreed to purchase Everton this week from majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri. The American-based investors already own Serie A club Roma and have officially reached an agreement to purchase the shares held by Moshiri's Blue Heaven Holdings.

“Of course,” Dyche said when asked if he wanted to remain as Everton boss. “What, to dig this out for 20-whatever-it-would-be-by-then months and for them [the new owners] to go, ‘cheers, thanks for looking after us, off you pop?’ Of course I would, but there is no divine right to just go, ‘oh well, you are definitely the person to do that’. And if not, then that is the way it goes."

Dyche will be hoping to boost his chances of keeping his job by leading Everton to their first Premier League win of the season at their sixth attempt when they host fellow winless rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday. Everton are aiming to have their new owners in place by Christmas after they undergo the tests and formalities needed to seal their takeover.
