Ruben Amorim in trouble as Bruno Fernandes unhappy and Man Utd players 'losing confidence' in manager's system after humbling against Man City

  • Amorim not changing his philosophy

United were well beaten in a 3-0 loss to their bitter rivals at the Etihad on Sunday. The Portuguese is adamant that his 3-4-2-1 system is here to stay and that if they want a new strategy, a different person needs to coach the first team. Now, The Daily Mail claims Amorim is in danger of losing a section of the dressing room over his refusal to compromise.

Man Utd woes continue under Amorim

The report adds that some United players have never been comfortable with Amorim's system and even one of his chief allies, captain Bruno Fernandes, is 'unhappy' operating in a deeper midfield role. This comes at a time when United have made their worst start to a season in 33 years after taking just four points in four Premier League games.

  • Ratcliffe backs Amorim

The Mail adds that it would be wrong to say Amorim has lost the support of United's players, and he is also still being backed by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club's hierarchy. That may change, though, as after a pre-season and 11 months in charge, Amorim isn't making much headway at Old Trafford.
