Roberto De Zerbi gives his pick for Premier League's best team amid Brighton coach's ongoing links to Liverpool

Brighton face Arsenal on Saturday evening with the Gunners looking to return to the top of the Premier League table with a win. De Zerbi's Brighton will provide tough reckoning though having lost just one game at home all season - a 3-1 defeat to West Ham in August. It is this impressive record which has, in part, led to him to be linked to the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich and Liverpool in recent months.

Ahead of the Seagulls' clash against the Gunners, De Zerbi was questioned on whether he believed his opponents to be the best team in the Premier League. He responded: "Yes. Liverpool are another great team with different characteristics and a different style. Man City are closer in style to Arsenal but I think when Arsenal play well, it’s very tough.

"You can understand my words because Arsenal won 3-1 against Liverpool [in February], beat Man City at home and in the Champions League they are doing very well."

Arsenal have been mightily impressive this season, and in particular since the turn of the new year. The Gunners have conceded just four goals while scoring 35 in the Premier League in 2024 to put themselves right up alongside City and Liverpool. Should they beat Brighton, the Gunners will return to the top of the Premier League and put further pressure on their rivals.

Despite the links away, the Brighton boss remains committed to guiding the Seagulls as high up the Premier League table as possible. Currently sat in ninth, Brighton will be dreaming of sneaking into the Europa League or Conference League places to have yet another European adventure.
