Roberto De Zerbi to Liverpool? Brighton boss responds to speculation he could replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield

De Zerbi has been tipped for a number of managerial roles across Europe's biggest clubs following his impressive work as Brighton boss. It came as no surprise that, when Klopp announced he will depart Liverpool at the end of the season, De Zerbi appeared as an immediate contender for the Reds job. But, as he has so often done, De Zerbi insists he is focusing on Brighton.

When asked about the Liverpool job, De Zerbi told the press: "Now it is not my focus. My focus is on my players, my team, my fans, my club.

"We have a lot of things to reach this season and then we will see [about] the future."

De Zerbi led Brighton to European competition for the first time in the club's history. The side finished sixth and qualified for the Europa League - the Seagulls have since made it through to the competition's Round of 16.

He may be focused on Brighton now, but De Zerbi will remain a coveted man across Europe. Should De Zerbi still be with the Seagulls at the end of the season, it may raise a few eyebrows. Although ending up at Anfield is no guarantee, with Xabi Alonso favourite for the job.
