Rob McElhenney has his mind blown by Wrexham record that includes 59 wins & 208 goals

McElhenney, along with fellow co-chairman Ryan Reynolds, decided to make a managerial change back in the summer of 2021 – a matter of months after their stunning takeover in North Wales had been completed. Parkinson, with his impressive track record in the Football League, was the man asked to inherit the reins.

Parkinson endured Wembley final heartache and play-off pain during his first season at the helm, but guided Wrexham to the National League title in record-breaking style last term. He now has his side sat among the League Two frontrunners – with back-to-back promotions very much on the cards.

Wrexham eased past Barrow 4-1 in their latest outing, taking them to 59 wins from the 75 home games that Parkinson has overseen. They have scored 208 goals through those fixtures, conceding just 76 and suffering defeat on only four occasions. McElhenney is among those to have been left massively impressed by that record.

Wrexham will be out on the road when facing Shrewsbury in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday, before returning to the Racecourse for a meeting with AFC Wimbledon on January 13 – with more supporters now being welcomed through the turnstiles there following the construction of a temporary stand.
